2. Data Sourcing

Points to note:

1) The datasets that received the most 1on1s at our London Data Showcase event are:

  • An employment data provider.
  • An ESG data provider.

2) Clients get access to our semi-proprietary datasets e.g. we are launching a RevCast dataset in Q2 2018. Eagle Alpha’s RevCast indicators are company level revenue indicators, designed to predict quarterly revenues for major US consumer companies.

3) Examples of client requests:

  • What are the best alternative datasets to analyse the Russian retail banking sector?
  • What are the best datasets for upcoming IPOs?
  • What are the best ESG data vendors?

4) Upcoming roadshow:

  • April 26th, NYC: A business insights data provider is meeting funds. This vendor provides over 250 metrics and 10 predictive factors covering almost all U.S. public companies. All metrics are based on verified & audited filings submitted by the companies themselves to the IRS and Department of Labor. The filings pertain to employee benefit plans, which include retirement (e.g., 401k) and welfare (e.g., healthcare).

3. Data Analytics

Analysing job listings data, from an Eagle Alpha data partner, pointed to slowing employment growth at Tableau. Eagle Alpha’s Search Signal for Tableau also rolled over. Both indicators are longer term in nature, but point to possible slower revenue growth in coming quarters. This is in contrast with current market expectations.
