What Datasets Are Getting Traction?

  • Quant: this vendor provides public monthly data points disclosed by Japan-listed companies. There are approximately 300 companies providing monthly data on same store sales, production capacity, occupancy rate and other material data items.   • Discretionary: this vendor monitors activity at Tesla delivery centers to estimate US vehicle deliveries. The dataset has an R^2 of 0.97 with reported deliveries and runs on a one-week lag. Our Data Sourcing clients can view the full profile here.
  • New dataset: this vendor provides a news analysis engine that deconstructs unstructured Chinese language text into structured machine-readable metadata. The company tracks over 1,800 event categories in news and allowing for sentiment to be coupled with events provides a rich mixture of company groupings that look at sentiment with various thematic dimensions.
